Dear Athletes, Coaches and Members,
We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with information on the Inaugural Spring ParaCanoe Training Camp that is being held in Florida.
The invite is being extended to all athletes who meet the eligibility outlined in the attached Invitation.
We are thrilled about this opportunity and hope this is an endeavor you will be able to take part in.
Coaches are welcome to nominate athletes they are working with and athletes are also encouraged to register themselves with signed approval from the coach they are working with. See details attached.

The deadline for registration is Friday February 12th, 2010.

CanoeKayak BC has been asked to once again take the leadership role in the delivery of canoe/kayak events at the 2011 Disability Games in Penticton. Individuals interested in competing at the event are asked to indicate their interest at the following link so that we can help prepare you to this and other competitive opportunities.
The Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards, the longest-standing sport recognition event in the country, will be held on March 31, 2010 at the River Rock Casino in Richmond. Tickets for the event will be made available through Ticketmaster starting at 10:00am on Saturday, February 6, 2010.

The new individual membership form has been posted at http://www.canoekayakbc.ca/administration/membership. All new members will enjoy an extended membership year from now until March 2011 and those renewing MUST do so before April 1st or before participating in club activities after that date.
Nicole Haywood; Women’s C-1 500m World Champion has been selected as one of three finalists in the Senior Female Athlete of the Year category, for Sport BC’s 44th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards, presented by TELUS.
Sport BC’s Athlete of the Year Awards is the longest standing sports recognition event in Canada. Over 600 people representing sport, media and corporate sponsors will attend the ceremony. This year’s event will be held on the evening of Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond, BC.
Congratulations yet again Nicole. We are all rooting for you because with us you are NUMBER 1!
