Vancouver 2010 Audience Day 13 Recap: 10.5 Million Viewers Watch Team Canada Defeat Russia Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium -Nearly two-thirds of the Canadian population watched some part of Team Canada’s 7-3 win over Russia last night.

Nicole Recognized Yet Again


World Champion Nicole Haywood was recently recognized by the Nanaimo City Council for her performances last summer at the World Championships, Canada Summer Games and National Championships.  Mayor Ruttan presented awards to Nicole earlier this month when she returned to Nanaimo for a quick visit prior to her departure to a training camp in Florida.

Community Sport Hero Awards


Community Sport Hero Awards may be coming to a community near you!  If you know of a volunteer who meets the following criteria:

  • An individual from the local community who makes a voluntary contribution to sport through coaching, officiating, boards,  administration, special events, etc
  • An individual (not an organization or foundation); and
  • Has been or continues to be a dedicated sport volunteer for a minimum of 8 years
