Provincial sprint team testing concludes

Following fall and winter testing, CKBC is pleased to announce the four sprint paddlers who showed the greatest overall improvement. Their scores were based on improvement to the Gold Medal Standard.

Junior 

  • Female: Melody Oh (Ridge):  +20.33% overall improvement
  • Male: Alex Demishkevich (Kamloops): +51.0% overall improvement

Senior

  • Female: Lydia Keefe Sampson (Chinook): +19.5% overall improvement
  • Male: Corey Stewart (Pitt Meadows): +22.9% overall improvement

The following athletes posted the the greatest improvement in individual testing areas (note due to snow, the 1500 m run was not completed during fall testing):

Peak Power

  • Junior Female: Melody Oh (Ridge): + 4.4%
  • Senior Female: Meghan Cheung (Fort Langley): +3.3%
  • Junior Male: Alex Demishkevich (Kamloops): +8.4%
  • Senior Male: Stuart Chase (False Creek): +3.1%

Bench Pull

  • Junior Female: Melody Oh (Ridge): +5.9%
  • Senior Female: Meghan Cheung (Fort Langley): +10.3%
  • Junior Male: Aiden Tabata (Kamloops): +12.4%
  • Senior Male: Corey Stewart (Pitt Meadows): +9.5%

Bench Press

  • Junior Female: Sam Loutet (Burnaby): +6.9%
  • Senior Female: Lydia Keefe Sampson (Chinook): +10.3%
  • Junior Male: Alex Demishkevich (Kamloops): +22.7%
  • Senior Male: Matthew Koehler (Ridge): +9.9%

Relative Strength

  • Junior Female: Tiffany Yau (False Creek): +4.63%
  • Senior Female: Lydia Keefe Sampson (Chinook): +7.5%
  • Junior Male: Alex Demishkevich (Kamloops): +14.9%
