CKBC’s Canada Summer Games team is currently training in Whistler in preparation for the Games in August. The 20 team members, five alternates and four coaches are using this time for training, and team building.
Team BC is staying at Whistler’s Tyrol Lodge whose staff have extended wonderful hospitality to the team. And training is on Alta Lake which the paddlers enjoy as it is clean and there are no weeds or power boats. CKBC also used this venue in preparation for the 1998 Sprint National Championships.
Next up for Team BC is discipline specific camps later this month.
The Canada Summer Games are the country’s largest multi-sport event for young athletes. The paddling events take place from August 7-10, 2017 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
