Donation request: Canoe Kayak BC scholarships and silent auction

Donations-Silent-Auction.png

Since 2008, Canoe Kayak BC has awarded $9,000 in scholarships to 18 student-athletes. These recipients are remarkable young adults with outstanding accomplishments, both in and out of the classroom. This year’s scholarships will be presented at the CKBC Awards and Scholarship Banquet on May 5 at the Whonnock Lake Centre in Maple Ridge.

Canoe kayak is recognized as a late developing sport and our athletes have serious decisions to make when they move from high school to post-secondary education. For some, these decisions may be based on the financial commitment required to both study and remain competitive in our sport.

Can you help these student-athletes?  There are two ways you can make a difference in their lives:

  1. Make a donation to our scholarship fund. Cash donations to the Canoe Kayak BC Scholarship Fund are put to work at once as 100 percent of all donations go directly to our student-athletes.
  2. Donate item(s) to our silent auction. The silent auction is our primary fundraiser for the CKBC scholarship fund and your donation can be something as simple as a gift certificate or products you would like to share with our members.

Over 100 athletes, coaches, officials, family and friends are expected to attend the banquet on May 5. Participating businesses and donors will be prominently featured in our event program including contact details. All donors will be featured on CKBC’s social media and website as well as in media releases.

Financial contributions to the scholarship fund may be made using the attached form or online. A donation form for silent auction is also attached. Thank you for your consideration of our request to help out these young student-athletes.
